He Wants To See His Daddy

God is my blessing
he wants to see
his daddy

I was shooting for at least one entry a week on this blog. Oh, well, the best laid plans of mice and men....

I heard the above haiku a few years ago. I don't remember giving much thought to its meaning at the time. I just found the construction a little strange. If "God is my blessing," then to see God (my Daddy, or my Father) is to make that blessing a certainty, and a manifested reality in my life, or that of another.

I was a little thrown by the informality of the word, "daddy," but I've learned, after receiving several of these haikus, that the colloquial form often comes through, and adds a certain down-to-earth flavor to many of them.

We learn from Jesus another blessing that comes from those pure of heart:

"Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God."
Not only then are the "pure in heart" blessed, but they shall, because of their purity, see God, their "blessing." Only the pure in heart can see God everywhere, that is, see "blessings" where others see curses.

According to our "purity" will it be done unto us. Just think,
you can see God wherever poverty exists, sickness dwells, and
disaster abides, and transform that scene into a heavenly vision,
where God (His perfection and Blessedness) reigns.

Yes, I want to see my Daddy everywhere I look, knowing that I can see God (blessings) where discord appears, to the degree that purity envelopes, fills, and permeates my heart.
